The Delta T Systems Smart Series Oil Temperature Control Unit (TCU) represents the future of precise industrial fluid management, engineered to deliver exceptional process flexibility and reliable, trouble-free performance. Built to operate at fluid temperatures up to 550°F (288°C), each TCU features an industrial-strength frame, a rugged, heavy-gauge sheet metal cabinet, and a NEMA 12 electrical enclosure with wiring that conforms to NEC electrical codes.

At the core of the Smart Series is a state-of-the-art, custom-engineered control program that leverages a network of precision sensors to continuously adjust operations for peak efficiency. This advanced microprocessor-based PID controller features a standard 4.3-inch touchscreen display to easily monitor critical metrics like unit status, pump speed, flow rate, pressure, and alarm notifications, while making the unit fully Industry 4.0-ready with optional remote connectivity .

Temperature control is optimized through the innovative VariHeat adaptive control program, which manages a 12 to 72 kW heating capacity by intelligently modulating heat output in real-time. This dynamic modulation allows for smooth, gradual temperature changes that prevent overshoot while maximizing energy efficiency. For cooling, the system uses an advanced electronic modulating valve for indirect cooling across a standard 4 sq. ft. heat exchanger. Unlike traditional solenoid valves that rely on abrupt open-and-close cycling, these modulating valves deliver continuous, precise flow adjustments that greatly improve temperature stability while virtually eliminating issues like undershoot and water hammer.

Fluid dynamics are handled by a standard self-priming, magnetic drive seal-less variable speed pump with a VFD, which automatically adjusts its speed to maintain a constant pressure setpoint regardless of changing system conditions. To ensure smooth flow and improved efficiency, a unique oil return tank and plumbing configuration provide automatic venting, continuously removing entrained air during operation without requiring manual bleeding.

Designed to drastically reduce downtime and maximize customer output, the Smart Series integrates robust safety features, including solid-state heater contactors, an overtemperature switch per heater tank, motor overload and circuit protection, pump dry-run protection, and high/low oil level and pressure safety systems. With its ease-of-service design featuring lift-off removable panels and touch-safe electrical components, the Smart Series provides a low-maintenance, high-reliability solution for demanding industrial temperature control processes.
